Cost of broad Band

Over the past five to seven years the vast popularity and availability of broadband internet access has grown in to an industry in which a number of Internet Service Providers have become king. These elite group of ISPs’ are the cable companies which include Time Warner and Comcast, These two cable providers have the control of the Broadband internet connection market place, They use their domination to engage in unfair pricing practices which include differing introductory pricing schemes across different target markets. They also require first time customers and those whom have poor credit score to put down a deposit ahead of initiating a new service.

One method of price control the FTC could use is to enact a mandatory universal price cap upon these companies. This would dictate to the cable conglomerates the absolute peak price that they could charge for a basic internet connection account. The FTC should require all cable corporations to do away with prorated first month service and initiation charges. They should also provide the customer with net gear modems and router at no additional cost to the customer.

One of the basic reasons we can identify is that merchandising is all about grabbing attention and tempting the decision. Marketing is not just meeting demand, its also about yielding demand. Now we can see, internet takes a lot of purchasers time, marketing firms are targeting any and every online section.
